Kidney Failure: the Facts
Published in Paperback by Oxford University Press (15 January, 1996)
Authors: J. Stewart Cameron and Stewart Cameron
Average review score:

Good summary of various kidney diseases and treatments
Even though I am non-specialist in a field of nephrology, this book is not too difficult to read and understand. Also, this book has summarized various kidney diseases and respective treatment very well. But, as for the section of transplant, I think this kind of book should provide more information as like as the immunosuppress drugs which are under development. I beleive hope is the best therapy for patients with chronic diseases.

The Last Amigo: Karlheinz Schreiber and the Anatomy of a Scandal
Published in Hardcover by McClelland & Stewart (March, 1901)
Authors: Stevie Cameron and Harvey Cashore
Average review score:

Very Interesting
This is an excellent account of Karlheinz Schreiber's international adventures and crimes on the counts of bribery, corruption, racketeering, tax evasion and illegal arms dealing.

It is very well researched by top Canadian journalists. In fact it may have been too well documented. Just about every wire transfer made by Schreiber is mentioned (some in great detail) and this guy made MANY transfers. All his accounts are listed as well, and again, he had MANY accounts.. and so on...

The book is educational in the fields of deal-making, questionable tax avoidance schemes and international wheeling and dealing.

Anyone interested in aviation business, European-North American trade relations, Middle Eastern business practises and general business scandals will enjoy this book.

What I found especially refreshing is the highly professional attitude of the authors to not take sides. They do not demonize Schreiber, although every moment of his life seems to lend an opportunity to do such a thing. In fact, one can't help but somewhat admire him in certain ways.

This book is a great asset to top level executives or independent businessmen who would like to learn more about deal-making and how to avoid making mistakes that can land you in jail.

Average review score:

Suspenseful AND funny!
Quirky funny, characters; a young Scottish scientist receives a call from a woman he knew as a little girl and hears some suprising news about a painting that used to hang in his childhood home. Light-hearted, but with menacing undertones.

Good book, could have lived without the preverted sex scenes
This was a good book, I found it and enjoyed it. But being a 12 year old, I thought the sex was unecessary and made me uncomfortable.

Love in America: Autobiography (1919-1922)
Published in Hardcover by Marion Boyars Publishers, Ltd. (November, 1994)
Authors: Julian Green, Euan Cameron, and Julien Green
Average review score:

An insight on coming to terms with being gay in the 20's
It must have been hell in the late 1910's, early 1920's, to finally admit, in one's early twenties, that one is gay. (Well, it's still not that easy now for all too many people.)

This is the autobiography of a very sensitive young man who found himself transplanted from France to live in the Southern US and attend the University of Virginia. (Quelle shock!) I found it an interesting and heartwarming insight on living in the South as well as coming to terms with being gay...and even falling in love.

Maps, Models and the Structure of Reality: Nlp Technology in Psychotherapy
Published in Paperback by Metamorphous Press (July, 1991)
Authors: Kim Kostere, Linda Malatesta, and Leslie Cameron-Bandler
Average review score:

Reality is not just out there
This book, first published in 1990, is still valuable for appreciating the philosophical basis of modeling and our construction of reality. Change involves changing our models. The key concepts of the early Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), with the emphasis on relationship, the use of language, especially the meta model, the use of various types of reframing are all illustrated with specific examples, transcripts and stories. The book is easy to read and one gets a good understanding of the foundations of NLP and its applications to therapy. Given this introduction, one can move on to O'Connor and Seymour's Introducing NLP and subsequently methodically study Robert Dilts' more recent writings in Modeling with NLP and Sleight of Mouth.

Average review score:

Highly recommended
Anyone looking for an introduction to Late Antiquity will find this book not only interesting, but also helpful because it provides a well structured overview of the life in the Mediterranean during Late Antiquity. Unlike other books on the subject, this one is easy to understand for those who are not necessarily experts in Ancient Rome, yet at the same time it deals with the subject in an intelligent manner.
